Join us for an artist’s talk with Eric Timothy Carlson to launch NYPLPCETC 01-04 (Yellow version). The work is the most recent publication produced as part of his ‘NYPLPC’ series, in which he accumulates and sequences found imagery sourced from the New York Public Library Picture Collection.

Eric will be joined in discussion by Will Luckman (PowerHouse Books) and Melanie Kress (High Line), taking the NYPLPC project as a starting point to consider the potency and diverse potential of an archive like the picture collection, how institutions establish historical record through collection-building, and his interest in the found image.

Eric recently produced two fundraising editions for Printed Matter, NYPLPC Epitome 1. Chimera Barricade Sabot and NYPLPC Epitome 2. I’m Hominini I’m L’Orange.
