English loan words are often used to partially express a concept in American Sign Language (ASL), which has its own syntax and grammar. Berlin-based artist Christine Sun Kim (b.1980, California) approaches the concept of sound via deconstructive exercises, experiments, and observations through drawing, painting, and performance. Her work has been exhibited and performed at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate Modern, London; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Ghebaly Gallery, Los Angeles; and White Space, Beijing, among other spaces, and is currently included in the 2019 Whitney Biennial.

This is the ticket to the Opening Night of the 2019 NY Art Book Fair on Thursday, September 19, 6-9pm at MoMA PS1. The first 2,000 visitors to pre-pay online will receive the Ticket Edition at Will Call. Printed Matter members receive free entry and a ticket edition at the door. To become a member, click here. If purchased online, you’ll receive a confirmation email and instructed to pick up your Ticket Edition when checking in at the door on Opening Night. Note: nothing will be physically mailed.
