Printed Matter is pleased to announce our participation in Art Basel Miami Beach (Preview today!). You can find us in the Bookstore section near the main fair entrance at Gate B, alongside Art Metropole. As always, we’ll have a selection of out of print artists’ book favorites, ephemera and multiples. We are also debuting a new “Fundraising edition”:catalog/32565 from Charlotte Dumas produced on the occasion of the Fair, and bringing along our brand new oversized Lawrence Weiner tote bag (more info below). Other good things available include Matt Keegan’s new book = =, presenting critical texts and five multiples from Michèle Didier, as well as two editions produced by the Song Cave from “Kim Gordon”:catalog/32478 and “RH Quaytman”:catalog/31148.

At the Printed Matter booth, Saturday, 5-7 PM, we’ll be hosting a launch for Hot Artists Issue #2, newly created for the occasion by Bradford Kessler. While working at the studio of Ai Weiwei in Beijing back in 2009, Kessler started sending around images of famous artists that he had doctored in suggestive/explicit ways. Addressing the role of the artist’s name and identity as the actual object of art (As with Nauman’s “My Name as Though it Were Written on the Surface of the Moon”), Hot Artists is both a humorous takedown of the artist as mystic entity and a simple fanboy zine for Kessler’s dirty mind. Hot Artists Issue #2 is published in an edition of 100, printed on pink paper with a white cover, and retails for $8.00. Available “here”:catalog/32565.
