Open Submission Table
ALL DAY

If you have an artists’ publication that you would like to have considered to be sold in our store, bring it on over to the Printed Matter table! Come ready with a single copy of the publication to the table and fill out our Title for Review form. No additional supporting materials are necessary, but feel free to provide relevant information along with the book if you like.

Do Nothing and Print - a cyanotype workshop with Eva Parra
11:30AM - 1PM

Join us for a unique workshop that combines the art of cyanotype with the embrace of rest and relaxation. This workshop invites participants to celebrate the idea of dolce far niente (the sweetness of doing nothing) and view rest as an act of resistance.

During the workshop, participants will not only learn the fascinating process of creating cyanotype prints but also explore the transformative power of rest. Participants will be invited to take a nap directly on specially prepared cyanotype papers, allowing the body’s imprint to form captivating images. By resting on the paper, participants will create a tangible representation of their own presence and the tranquility of the moment.

After everyone has contributed their unique imprints, we will collaborate on assembling a mural that showcases the collective artwork. This mural will serve as a visual testament to the celebration of stillness and the art of being present.

Note: No prior experience in cyanotype or art is necessary. All materials will be provided. Just bring yourself and your willingness to rest and create.

This event is free with limited space. Registration is required. RSVP here.

Unbooking with Chang Yuchen - a counterproductive workshop
2 - 3PM

Join us for an unbooking workshop with artist Chang Yuchen. Bring a book you are done with, you are bored by, you detest or you protest, and let’s see what we can do to make it better. Selected examples of artists’ books that are reappropriated, re-imagined and re-engineered based on found books will be shown, and assorted tools will be provided.

This event is free with limited space. Registration is required. RSVP here.

‘How to’ Publishing : A Community Conversation - A panel
4 - 5:15PM

Have you been looking for a way into artist book making? Feeling inspired but needing questions answered? Join us for a ‘how to’ discussion of independent publishing! Hear about the beginnings of some of New York’s notable zine and small press publishers as they discuss how they got started, practical tips for book work and zine creation, and so much more.

Panelists include Eva Parra (Calipso Press), Tara Ridgedell (Secret Riso Club), and Hannah Yukiko Pierce (Small Editions).

This event is free and open to the public.
