“Infatuated with eschatology. I fantasize about piloting an escape pod to the far end of the universe and time, where there lies an immense, boundless botanical garden. Vines, ferns, bizarre flowers, and things from the desert sprawl uncontrollably because there are no humans. It’s quiet, with only an old radio playing the last song sporadically. The unchanging sunlight of centuries shines here as always; amidst the ruins of human civilization, countless plants are reveling.”
“我迷戀末世。幻想自己駕著一個逃生艙,逃去宇宙和時空的盡頭,那裡有一座巨大無邊的植物園。爬藤,蕨類或沙漠之物,奇異的花草瘋狂蔓延,因為沒有人類所以很安靜,只有破舊的收音機,斷斷續續放著最後一首歌。若干世紀不變的陽光,在這裏一如往常;人類文明的廢墟裡,有無數植物在狂歡。”
“_ Botanical Garden at the End of the Universe / 宇宙盡頭植物園_ is part of a selection of books from Squeeze Sour, a distribution project founded by Lin Wang, inspired by one of Lin’s friends who works a delivery job while making photo books in China. Due to censorship and the cultural environment, self-publishing in China has become increasingly challenging, with fewer supporters. Squeeze Sour gathers China-based creators who rarely have the opportunity to express themselves. Our mission is to showcase these books to a wider audience and also to bring some fresh air to the US self-publishing community. Despite the constraints of our mundane world, I believe the tang of the squeezing process yields bittersweet yet rewarding outcomes.” -Squeeze Sour
