Many people take photos before they eat. At least in Asia people do it, like all the time. They photograph mostly to upload on Instagram or Facebook. That “situation” (or happening?) was interesting to us.
Like many other SNS users, we used a mobile camera. We didn’t aim to make the food look delicious in the photos but concentrated on simply taking the image itself. We observed the food and thought, how can we not omit the properties of proto-matters when we convert it into an image? The built-in flash gave us the chance to find a frozen moment so we could look closer like we were watching under a microscope.
‘Have A Nice Day’ is not about food. It’s about the “object matters” of what we call food. You will see our captured moment of substance itself. You might just flip through the pages like you scroll down the screen in your hand. But at some point, if the flipping stops and your eyes fix, you will see what we spotted. - kontaakt
