This second issue of the dark and moody Ästhetischer Beobachter features the work of Alexei Beluaev-Guintovt, Michael Kunze, Jette Rudolph, Danja Akulin, Martin Dammann, Wim Botha, Dennis Rudolph. With text entirely in German.
“The Aesthetischer Beobachter stands in the tradition of the avantgarde groups of the 20th century modernism with the aim to initiate a new art movement. Wagner’s idea of the ‘Conservative Revolution’, the philosophy of Nietzsche and Spengler’s ‘Morphology of World History’ built the intellectual background. The magazine connects this body of thought with postmodern radical approaches like Joseph Beuys’ proclaimation of an omnipotence of art over culture and society. The positions launched by the Aesthetischer Beobachter include actual artistic texts, graphic art and painting. Published approaches either deal with the overcome relicts of the occidental culture or establish the antique practice of art as cult for a future society.”
