Established in 2013 by artist Tauba Auerbach, Diagonal Press produces books, prints, multiples and ephemera in open editions that explore the intersections of topology, geometry, and typography. The New York-based imprint aims “to devise a business structure in which the work is affordable…its value defined by what one gets out of owning it rather than from reselling it,” therefore nothing is signed or numbered. Publications include reprints of Claude Bragdon’s early 20th century graphic design masterworks, Projective Ornament and A Primer of Higher Space, various enamel pin glyphs, and a package of rolling papers printed with variations of the Z helix.
