Printed Matter is at the Independent this week, March 3-6, taking place at the Spring Studios (50 Varick Street). We’ll be in the 6th floor foyer, near the staircase.

Recent PM editions: At the PM booth we’ll be showing (for the first time in NY) new editions from Sterling Ruby and Misaki Kawai.  Ruby’s DEEP ORANGE is a giclée and silkscreen print, with spot varnish. The work shows a vibrant, high-gloss color field enclosed by 4 dramatic inward-facing stalactites. Misaki Kawai has produced a five-color silkscreen print on laser plywood, entitled What is Art?, featuring an enthusiastic green-haired young woman lost in an art book.

Recent stock: We’re also featuring some favorite new titles we brought back from the LA Art Book Fair, including the Black Panther Coloring Book, from SUN_ Books, featuring images used by the FBI’s Counter Intelligence Program in 1968 in an effort to discredit the group.  We’ll also have Dark Pools (Almost Everything) by Aaron Krach, a ‘shadow’ of Mies van der Rohe Furniture and Drawings, the catalog for an exhibition at MoMA dedicated to the architect’s furniture. Also available in a deluxe version which includes the original catalog from 1977
