Join us at Printed Matter / St Marks for a launch of two new publications from Golias Books: The Pasolini Book by Stacy Szymaszek and The Heroic Dose by Matt Longabucco. Both Szymaszek and Longabucco are longtime downtown NYC poets, and we’re excited to welcome them to our East Village location.

Matt Longabucco is the author of M/W: An Essay on Jean Eustache’s La maman et la putain (Ugly Duckling Presse 2021). His chapbooks include Athens Notebook and The Sober Day. Poems and essays have appeared recently in Mirage, The Brooklyn Rail, and The Poetry Project Newsletter. He lives in Brooklyn and teaches writing, innovative pedagogy, and critical theory at New York University and at Bard College’s Institute for Writing and Thinking.

The Pasolini Book is Stacy Szymaszek‘s sixth book of poetry. Her book Famous Hermits will also be published in 2022. She is the recipient of a 2014 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Poetry and a 2019 Foundation for Contemporary Arts grant in poetry. From 2007 to 2018, she was the director of The Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Church in New York City. She currently lives in the Hudson Valley, where she is an educator and a freelance consultant for arts and social justice nonprofits.

Golias Books seeks to promote and circulate poetry that avails itself of a diverse array of registers, modes, genres, and formal possibilities—poetry that traffics in the remoter realms of what has traditionally been called poetics.

This event will take place in the Printed Matter / St Marks bookstore at 38 St Marks Pl. Space is limited, so make sure to arrive promptly.
