The queer nude studies of Dale Wittig take on a more conceptual bent in this issue of the Pink Pamphlet, now on its fifth volume. As with other issues, Wittig’s eroticized figure studies depict his male models in typically masculine, virile poses that reference a Classical ideal and modern maculine tropes within the wry matrix of the gay male gaze. However, in this body of work the artist transplants his models into the savannas and jungles of an eroticized landscape where animal, man, and desire converge and lay witness to each other.
