I Thought Earth Would Be Different is a zine by Ray Potes published by innen on the occasion of Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in April 2019. I Thought Earth Would Be Different is a collection of photographs of strange, unexpectedly humorous interactions between humans and nature. This staple bound zine is printed in black ink on orange paper. Ray Potes is a photographer and the editor of Hamburger Eyes, a black and white photography magazine. Since 2001, Potes and Hamgurger Eyes have developed a unique photographic style dedicated to the pictorial history of the iconic and unseen moments of the everyday.
