Gahenna is a full color, hardcover artist book written and designed by Rin Kim which includes an additional CD mix production by YOKI. Kim describes Gahenna as being “on power, calculation heartache, malice, and transitioning.” Containing both film photographs by the artist of interior and urban spaces as well as emotionally fraught writing which transitions between third person essay and poetry, Gahenna is a dark and beautifully crafted personal journey into the psychological space Kim inhabits.
Rin Kim is a Brooklyn based graphic designer and multidisciplinary artist. About their work, the artist writes it is focused “on apotheosis, the dematerialization of the body, personal mythologies, the revolution of crisis, creating demi-gods, intergenerational trauma, sci-fi cybernetics/biohacking for transgender bodies, and the embracing of violent social personas by de-weaponizing our identities and weaponizing intimacy.”
