Waiting is a 48 page, three color, risograph printed book containing a collection of drawn portraits by Colombian artist Adriana Lozano. Lozano writes, “Waiting is a series of portraits. All the characters in this series are related to a permanent uncomfortable field, as if we were under the effects of an invisible disturbance, linked more than anything to the emotional dimension.”
Published in 2018 by Amsterdam based independent publishing house Terry Bleu, Waiting is a reflection on interim moments. Figures, often drawn alone in interior spaces, are portrayed with a sense of familiar discomfort. Repetition of details, such as a tattoo of the name “Lola” and a crimson floral pattern on a rug, weave seemingly disparate figures together in unexpected ways.
