In Elefanto Franz von Saalfeld brings together works from a drawing book with ink drawings that has been created over several years. Formally they are an exception to Franz von Saalfeld’s other works, because the majority of his exuberant oeuvre is rich in color. With watercolors, texts and set design models, he traces the uncomfortable calm of the small town and his own closely interwoven biography.
Franz von Saalfeld, born in 1961, is an artist at Atelier Goldstein. Atelier Goldstein of the Lebenshilfe Frankfurt am Main e.V. is an internationally successful production facility of the arts and offers uniquely gifted artists with disabilities the opportunity to work under professional conditions.
