The complete set of 10 books from the series Found on eBay and Printed in a Book inside a unique multicolor Plexiglas case.
The artist designed 10 unique cases for the collection because he believed that together, they are something stranger. The collections is a portrait of the image pool (cesspool?) that surrounds us, influences us, and inspires us.
In 2016, Aaron Krach discovered an archive of 25,000 images for sale on eBay. He bought the collection though he was not sure what, exactly, he was buying. A week later, 10 CDs arrived each labeled very clearly: “2,350 Native American Images” or “1,300 Images of Women’s Asses.” With an old computer, Aaron was able to open the discs and find hundreds and thousands of jpgs. The sheer mass, the strange repetitions, the massive diversity: war, sex, nature inspired him to put these digital relics back into print. A couple of rules: he had to use every image, and place them left to right, top to bottom, until each disc was empty. Each finished book represents one CD. Aaron could not alter any of the images—size was determined by the “original.” The result is a curious compilation of war and sex and photography.
