Northern Irish artist David Sandlin brings to life the quality of the 2019 White House in Fright House. Addressing the character of contemporary American politics by taking the Trump Administration as subject, Sandlin illustrates an environment of chaos and depravity, one ruled by white supremacist and Confederate ideals. Figures such as Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Mitch McConnell appear as monstrous, alien, and insect-like forms, wrecking havoc upon a landscape defined by social media, twenty-four-hour news cycles, faux Christianity, and mass incarceration.
The reverse of the front and back covers of Fright House fold out into tri-color posters that further illustrate the themes of the publication.
