Artists Cali Thornhill Dewitt and Misha Hollenbach’s broadsheet “Hot Fire,” created on the occasion of the New York Art Book Fair, had garnered such attention it prompted an Italian fashion mogul to buy the original print and host an exhibition of sorts for the two. Thornhill Dewitt and Hollenbach found themselves flying to Milan, and as title We Go To Work would suggest, collaborating once again. The chosen medium for their new piece? Pizza.

As much as one might like to think the choice was intentional given the setting, Thornhill Dewitt and Hollenbach had forgotten to pack paintbrushes and thought the baked bread imprint made for great texture on paper. Photographer Lukas Gansterer documented the two at work, amongst pizza boxes, concrete mix and black paint cans, with comprising his photos. Los Angeles-based creative agency 3125c publishes the artist’s book, as a staple-bound paperback.
