Fluxus artist/musician Mieko Shiomi was a founder of the group Ongaku (Music) with Takehisa Kosugi and others in early 60s Japan. Soon thereafter, she visited the United States, where she took part in variuos Fluxus-related activities.
Since then, she has pursued her “events” - both musical and non-musical - in subtle, minimal actions, often involving small interventions in the environment.
Produced in an edition of 80 by Gallery 360º (Tokyo), Events & Games is a box containing nearly 30 instruction pieces, printed on small cards. They are printed in English and occasionally with Japanese (nihongo) characters. The box also includes a facsimile of a photograph of the artist.
